Every year we have both on-going and one-time special events. Here’s the list for 2007 so far; check back often for more fun events! People’s Choice Fiber Show: Every year we will showcase your uniquely beautiful fiber creations. Felted Bags will be the theme for 2007, so get out those fibers, knit, weave, or otherwise make a bag and felt it, or start from the felt!. This show is not juried, and any level of experience is welcome, from total novice to professional. Yarns can be handspun or commercial; you can follow a commercial pattern or make up your own; and, unless the show theme specifies otherwise, you item can be knit, crocheted, woven, felted, or made any other way. You can also help suggest categories for voting. These are the categories we had for the Shawl Show in 2006, to give you some ideas: Judging will be by “people’s choice” at the show. There will be a winner in each category, with prizes, announced at 5:00 pm on Saturday. You must arrange to pick up your entry or have a friend do so; we will not accept mail-in entries or returns. Super Silly Spinning Challenge: Our first SSSC was lots of funs, as brave spinners risked their egos spinning with rubber gloves on and while blindfolded (and found it wasn’t as bad as they expected! 🙂 Do you have any ideas for next year’s SSSC? Send them to our Hospitality Chair! When she decides what she wants to challenge you with, we’ll post it here, and of course it will be in the festival booklet. |
