Northern Michigan Lamb & Wool Festival Vendors You Made That?!?

New in 2013: You Made That?!? Instead of regular fiber workshops this year, some of our vendors will be presenting “You Made That!” mini classes and demos. Some are free, some have a moderate cost that includes all equipment and supplies needed. You will learn a new skill and go home with a finished, or easily-finished item! And because these classes and demos run 90 minutes or less, you have plenty of time left to shop, visit with friends, and enjoy the fiber show or participate in the fiber contest! Best of all, you don’t have to sign up in advance, leaving you free to be spontaneous. Of course, space is limited in paid classes, so if you see something you like, be sure to stop at the vendor’s booth early to sign up. Descriptions, when available, are below, or follow the links in the names of the classes. Descriptions Baskets of the Past Some of the baskets that were made years ago and what they were used for Nuno Felting Brief demo of nuno felting: Appropriate materials and fibers, and basic technique Build-A-Batt! Create your own drum carded fiber batt for spinning or felting! I will teach you the basic technique I use to blend a medium textured Art Batt. Each kit includes materials to blend an approximately 3oz batt. $25.00 Drop Spindling Instruction and demonstration of drop spindling for beginners using the park and draft method. Felted Flowers Water felting technique for making felted flowers Intro to Corespinning I will demonstrate how I spin from a batt to create unique corespun yarns! Corespinning is an excellent way to spin batts. I will also introduce ways to expand on your corespinning to create truly one-of-a kind yarns that are Uniquely Yours!
